After the recent security breach involving Cambridge Analytica, many Facebook users are on heightened alert, and for good reason. As it turns out, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has been using Facebook for years to find incriminating evidence against immigrants. Not only are they using backend, protected Facebook data, but also public photos that ICE believes are even slightly incriminating. It is more important than ever to be aware of what is being shared on social media, not only for safety and professionalism, but in the case of non-U.S. citizens to prevent being placed in deportation proceedings.
